Description

This news report looks at the difference in health between Protestant and Catholic communities in Northern Ireland.

Shot List

Black and white archive footage of Belfast (in the 1970s) shows dilapidated housing estates while a presenter describes the causes of bad health in centain underprevileged people in Northern Ireland. Pan along modern dilapidated buildings. Presenter states that these problems still exist today. A statistics chart shows poorer health levels among Catholics in their later years. Interviews with doctors / GPs who state that is lifestyles of unemployment and deprivation that leads to poor health on both sides of the community. The presenter asks whether Northern Ireland's goverment is ready to invest in combating these problems.
