Description

All the pomp and pageantry of the academic procession at Queen's University, Belfast.

Graduation Day is marked by this vibrant footage of the academic procession, including the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Heads of School and Professors. The line of academics is seen snaking from the front of the iconic university and into the Sir William Whitla Hall. Once inside the Hall, the academics are greeted by graduands dressed in the traditional garb of gowns and hoods.

Rushes by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. Vice Chancellor, Lord Alanbrooke, is clearly identifiable and can be seen attended by his page.

This film was digitised as part of the BFI's Unlocking Film Heritage project.
