Description

Scenes of rioting in the Bogside in Derry in 1969.

Notes

Catholic opposition to a Protestant parade provoked two days and nights - 13th and 14th August 1969 of continuous rioting in the Bogside district of Londonderry in the summer of 1969. This became known as the Battle of the Bogside. The British government then sent in the troops to restore order.
