It is no longer in use and has become an eyesore. 00:41-01:38 John Donnelly together with Warrenpoint councillor, Jim McCart, are trying to get the canal cleaned up. 01:40-02:09 The canal is particularly bad in the town centre area. 02:10-02:56 The Newry and Mourne District Council Spokesman says that they are not responsible for the upkeep of the canal. 02:57-04:29 Donnelly calls for preservation of one still open part of the canal.
