Description

"For years I’ve been inspired and amazed by the ceaselessly inventive and fantastical work of Roy Spence. It’s seems so unlikely that a ‘do it yourself’ style filmmaker of such acclaim would exist in the countryside of Comber. Roy masks his success and talent under self deprecating humour and wit and I hoped to capture that whilst filming and thanks to Roy’s willingness and openness I also got a very honest account of his feelings towards filmmaking." Michael MacBroom, Filmmaker

For over 50 years Roy Spence has been making low or no budget films in rural Northern Ireland; with subjects including leprechauns, aliens, fifties rock ‘n’ rollers and the undead. It Came From Comber gives an honest and revealing account of Roy’s problems, techniques, solutions and successes in low budget filmmaking.
