Bluebell Lane

A collection of films from the Bluebell Lane group

Tucked away in the stunning Ring of Gullion in rural South Armagh, Bluebell Lane is a collective of artists and storytellers who are passionate about preserving and sharing the unique culture, heritage, and traditions of this remarkable landscape. The group gathers at the Bluebell Lane glamping site, a magical setting that boasts an authentic Celtic roundhouse and an indigenous Irish forest, creating the perfect environment for creativity and storytelling to flourish.

A key part of their work is the revival and celebration of traditional Irish crafts, offering visitors and locals the chance to engage in basket weaving, woodturning, and other time-honoured skills. Skilled craftspeople guide these sessions, eager to pass down their knowledge and ensure that these ancient practices continue to be enjoyed and appreciated for generations to come.

Music and the arts also lie at the heart of Bluebell Lane’s projects. The group has collaborated on a variety of creative initiatives, including the ‘Ring of Gullion Sessions’, a series of online performances that showcase the rich musical talent of the region. Produced in partnership with Duncairn Arts Centre in Belfast, these sessions celebrate the area’s deep musical roots, bringing the sounds of South Armagh to a wider audience.

Through their dedication to craft, music, and storytelling, Bluebell Lane is a testament to the cultural richness of the Ring of Gullion, ensuring that its traditions remain vibrant, relevant and alive.
