Charles Witherspoon
Reporter who specialised in offbeat stories
During the station's formative years, Charles (Charlie) Witherspoon was one of Ulster Television's most recognisable and beloved presenters.
Throughout the 1960s, he would interview celebrities local and national and report on every facet of Northern Irish life. Often finding himself in unusual situations, it was Witherspoon's innate curiosity and willingness to embrace the bizarre that would endear him to local audiences.
