Havelock House

Havelock House: The Home of UTV

Ulster Television moved into Havelock House in October 1959, right at the start of the channel's story.

Before the building was converted into a television studio complex, Havelock House was the former site of a hemstitching warehouse. During World War II, the building was the billet for troops to provide cover for Belfast's bridges.

Initially, the building contained one studio. A second studio was opened in the building in 1962. Many of UTV's most remembered programmes were made here including Romper Room, The School Around The Corner and UTV Live.

This collection captures a glimpse inside the building over the years.
