A series aiming to promote craft work as a profitable leisure activity

During the programmes, Stephen Atkinson demonstrates the basic techniques of a range of crafts which vary considerably from episode to episode in order to give a wider appeal. The crafts are intended to cater to all despite widespread gender stereotyping so prevalent in the 1980's. Materials to be employed include metal, wood, plastic, leather, glass and some other lesser known ones.

Make It Pay not only sets out to interest the viewers in craft work but also to indicate ways in which working with materials can make money. There's a guest on each of these programmes whose aim it is to advise on the various aspects of making money through craft work.
