Shipyards and the Docks
The Belfast docklands captured on film over the past 100 years
Beflast Port can be traced back to 1613 and the city has been famous for over 100 years for its shipbuilding. In the early 20th century it was responsible for some of the biggest and the best luxury ocean liners in the world. This collection gives a snapshot of some of the industry propaganda, ship launches and the stories of the people who lived and worked both sides of Belfast Harbour.
