WW1 material gathered for the 50th Anniversary of The Somme

In 1966, UTV drew together a range of material to commemorate the 50^th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. In addition to interviews with veterans and voices from the home front during WW1, this footage also contains other archive sources that were gathered for the programme With Heart and Hand: Battle of the Somme. This rich resource includes extensive extracts from the drama documentary The Somme (1927) and newsreel footage showing events in Dublin in 1916.
