Description

With high speed car races and stunts, the opening for this Ulster Motor Show programme is sure to grip car enthusiasts. Gary Gillepsie hosts the event and gives us a quick brief of exactly what's in store with 179 cars on display.

Previously, lack of space was an issue for the motor show, a problem partially rectifed this year with 6 extra stands, across an extra 4,500 square foot of floor space. The quality of the stands has also increased with some coming from "as far afield as Paris!"

Insights to the industry are given, with it being observed that a key threat to British car manufacturing is now coming from Korea. At the Hyundai booth, Miss Northern Ireland is in for a shock, as a cigarette is karate-kicked out of her mouth!

New innovations are also seen with an example of the latest "ultrasonic door locking and burglar alarm... it's completely automatic with a click of a button". The NI football team make an appearance, delighting soccer fans, with Sammy Mackie and Jackie Stewart speaking about the importance of road safety.
