Description

A Flare for Music examines the story of Northern Ireland musician, Emily McCormick, looking at the challenges that she faces in her career and everyday personal life as she lives with endometriosis.
Emily experiences pain on a near daily basis with agonising flare ups. In the film she articulates the anxieties that come with living with a chronic disease.
Emily’s experience is unfortunately all too common for many girls and women. Despite endometriosis affecting as many as 10% of reproductive-age women, the condition remains misunderstood by many.
A Flare for Music is an exploration of one woman’s resilience and perseverance.
