Description

This programme looks at the artists and makers of the Fermanagh lakelands, reflecting on the ways in which the distinct history and natural beauty of the area inspire and delight local sculptors. With a history of sculpture strecthing back thousands of years, it is no surprise that the natural landscape of the area continues to evoke a sense of wonder in those who observe it. As our narrator says of the lakelands, "The sense here awaken and sleep with perfect continuity. Being awake and seeing what is to be seen refreshes like a sound slumber; and being asleep, what should you dream but of another sunset on our beloved water?"

Notes

Includes visits to Denish Island and Boa Island, as well as footage taken on the lakes.
