Anne McReynolds interviews managing directors of Doubleband Dermot Lavery and Michael Hewitt. The interview also contains short clips from some of their documentary work.

They founded Doubleband together in 1988, and have since made around 150 films, including 'Escobar's Own Goal' and 'Lost Lives', and 'Women's Work', a documentary about women in politics.

They discuss how they got started working together, and how their company has grown.They talk about their views on documentary filmmaking, the struggles of filmmaking in Northern Ireland and how they chose their topics.They have a particular interest in drawing out personal stories.

Notes

Doubleband films was founded by Dermot Lavery and Michael Hewitt in 1988, they met in 1983 after leaving university. Since then they have made over 150 films.

Array Collective are a group of artists based in Northern Ireland, who won the Turner Prize in 2021.
