Description

This footage was shot by a UTV news crew two days after the events of 17 April 2004 when Belfast's iconic and beautiful North Street Arcade was burned down in a deliberate act of arson. As well as the sad exteriors and the shots of blackened embers inside, there is also an interview with Rita Harkin of the Ulster Architectural Historical Society who talks about why the loss of this particular structure is such a blow for architecture and the arts communities who used it.
