Description

Overlooking Sheephaven Bay on the coast of Donegal, the Shandon Hotel and Spa has become a choice location for visitors and celebrations. This series follows the trials and tribulations of the staff that keep the hotel running to an impeccable standard. Everything from the inner workings of the kitchen to the manager's office are revealed.

The hotel closed in the 2008 recession but was relaunched in 2016 to great success. This episode, the first in the series, follows the working day of chef Maureen. Starting her day at 5:00am, Maureen prepares breakfast for the guests. She works in close coordination with Dee, the breakfast manager, and Niamh to make sure that the hungry guests are satisfied. The working day of Gracemarie, cleaner, is also explored, and she shares her thoughts as she works through the hotel. Head chef Josie also shows off his cooking skills as well as his abilities in running an effective team. Manager Carolynne discusses the challenges of running a hotel during extensive renovations and under the watchful eye of Warren, the hotel's owner.

Enjoy exploring the Shandon Hotel and hear the stories of the remarkable staff that work within its walls!
