With views of the crowd lining the streets outside the City Hall and up scaffolding, the scope of the mass rally is easily seen. Protesters hold banners saying "Iron Lady Be Warned - Your Iron Will Melt From The Heart of Ulster" and "Ulster Says No".
The crowd begins singing before silencing in time for James Molyneaux give his speech. Molyneaux, makes clear that "the scheme will not work because there is no consent" but insisting that "violence is no part in our campaign". Soon, Ian Paisley takes the podium to much applause, stating that this is a battle for the "loyalist people of the whole of Ulster".
