Outside the City Hall where a "Ulster Says No" banner has been draped over the iconic building, Ian Paisley gives an impassioned speech. He declares that the "heart of Ulster has been stricken with the deepest of sorrows" and reminds the crowds that it was a "Tory" minister who signed the Anglo-Irish Agreement in Hillsborough, prompting cries of "traitor" from the protesters.
Afterwards both James Molyneaux (Leader of the Ulster Unionist Party) and Ian Paisley (Leader of the Democratic Unionist Party) sign "a solemn declaration" to resign their seats at Westminster.
