Description

This newsreel shows George VI and Queen Elizabeth in Belfast. George VI became King on 12 May 1937 following the abdication of his elder brother, Edward.

Shot List

'Ulster. Belfast Greets Their Majesties on Final Coronation Tour'. HMS Exmouth comes into Donegal Quay. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, (now the Queen Mother) leaving ship and being greeted by the Duke of Abercorn. The King is in naval uniform. Shots of the Royal drive to the City Hall, past the Albert Clock. The Lord Mayor receives the King and Queen. They alight from car at the City Hall. Ex-servicemen are presented to Their Majesties. King places a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance at City Hall.
