Description

Much of Northern Ireland’s rail network was shut down in the 1950s and 1960s. This was not only lamented by rail enthusiasts but is still considered a mistake by those promoting ideas for greener transport models and less traffic on roads. Fortunately, the cameras of Ulster Television captured some of this old network before it disappeared including this stripping down of the old signal box at Belfast North.
