Description

In Stoneyford, Reel’s chicken farm breeds broiler chickens. Little chicks are transported in boxes while the older chickens are fed.

Notes

Broiler chickens are those bred solely for their meat. The use of factory farms began to grow in the 1960s and became increasingly industrialised but chickens bred this way are susceptible to many welfare and health issues.

An Ulster Television Production.
