Description

As well as documenting the conversion of Havelock House to become their brand new television studio, UTV also carefully filmed for posterity the building of the transmitter station on Belfast’s Black Mountain, which would beam the new station’s content to all those in Northern Ireland who were within range of its signals. This involved not just the building of the enormous transmitter tower itself but of the associated outbuildings for those who would staff the station and help keep UTV on air.
