This report covers a Persian culture evening at Belfast's
Multicultural Resource Centre to celebrate Northern Ireland's Middle Eastern
community from Iran and Iraq. This was the first event ever hosted by the
Centre.
The participants ring
in the Persian new year with songs, dancing and food. There is a recreation of
a bazaar filled with artisan arts and craft. The event has been funded by local
businesses and has proved popular with the Belfast public. The organisers are
delighted and see it as a fitting tribute to one of Northern Ireland's most
vibrant communities.
