Description

In this episode of Check it Out, Jacqui Berkeley and Ronan Kelly examine the criteria for admission to the 'Good State Schools Guide'. Other topics for discussion include, which coffee is best, when to plant your spring bulbs and how offensive is garlic breath.

Despite Northern Ireland having a good reputation for schools, only three were chosen to represent the country in the Good State Schools Guide, The Observer stating that the final selection was made from an exhaustive longlist. Jacqui Berkeley explores the issue, to see if it is an alraming a critique of Northern Ireland's education system as it might first appear.

Next up, the coffee debate! Downtown Radio presenters, Ivan Lyttle and Richard Young conduct a taste test on multiple brands, with Richard stating that he, "couldn't move without it [coffee], to be honest!"

Next, Andrea Catherwood meets with garden enthusiast Ronnie Cameron, to consider the pressing problems of the Spring season and how best to plant your bulbs.

Style expert, Jeff Banks speaks to Jacqui about his programme, The Clothes Show, and how its success has inspired a raft of fashion and style programmes.

Lastly, Dick Holland eats his way through a garlicky dish, before doing a garlic breath test on a member of the public!
