Description

The HMS Kent was a guided missile destroyer built for £14m by Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. It was formally commissioned at a ceremony by Admiral Sir Charles Madden, Commander in Chief of the Home Fleet, who had been Sub-lieutenant of the commission on the previous ship to bear the name in 1928. As well as the official speech and presentations there is also included an interview by Jimmy Greene with the Admiral and with its Captain, John Wells.
