Description

Northern Irish boxer Dave 'Boy' McAuley arrives back at Newtownards airport with his wife Wendy after winning the British flyweight championship against Joe Kelly in Glasgow. Proudly showing off his belt and sporting some bruising to the face, he talks about how tough the fight was. His manager, Barney Eastwood, talks up his chances of going onto fight for a world title with him ranked number eight in the world.

McAuley fought in the same stable as Barry McGuigan but, with McGuigan having just lost his world title and McAuley now picking up a belt, he was beginning to emerge from the more famous boxer's shadow, and would eventually go onto become a successful world champion himself.
