Description

A news item on the demise of the DeLorean car which was launched amid great interest from the public.

Notes

With its stainless steel body and gull-wing doors, the DeLorean DMC-12 is one of the most distinctive looking cars of all time. The vehicle was manufactured in a factory in Dunmurry between 1981 and 1982 with substantial financial incentives - around £100 million - coming courtesy of the Northern Ireland Development Agency. This wasn’t enough to stop the DeLorean Motor Company going into receivership by February 1982 and being officially closed by the British government in November of that year.

Shot List

Views of the DeLorean car. Reporter Hugh Owens interviews the company president, Dan Lander
