Demonstration for peace on the Ormeau Bridge, organised by The Irish Congress Trade Union (ICTU).
Holding placards stating 'ICTU Trade Unions Demand the Right to Live, the Right to Work' protesters listen keenly to speakers explaining why this rally is needed and what they hope to achieve.... an end to the violence. Joyce McCartan, a community activist who lost her son in the conflict is adamant that "we can live together side by side" and that seeing the people who have suffered "breaks her heart".
Student, Cahal Smith explains how the work place, is one of the "more subtle forms of sectarianism that exist in our country" which makes the work that the ICTU do, all the more important. A poignant moment during the demonstration is when everyone present starts to shake hands, after an analogy to show we should set aside guns.
