Dennis Taylor's epic world snooker final in 1985 against
Steve Davis gripped the nation as Taylor recovered from falling behind 7-0 at
the start to win the title on the final black ball of the final frame. The
genial Irishman returned to his hometown of Coalisland in Co Tyrone in May that
year to meet with a packed town centre turning out to cheer on their conquering
hero.
Approaching
the town square on an open-top van with the world snooker championship trophy,
Taylor addresses the crowd from a platform, with plenty of his characteristic
wit before departing on the small van again, shaking hands all the while.
