In 1989, Derry City won their first FAI Cup. Derry City beat Cork City in the FAI Cup Final in May 1989. Manager Jim McLaughlin's team were the first Derry side to win the FAI Cup at Dalymount Park in Dublin. McLaughlin can be seen in this video, soaking up the adulation of the crowd in front of the city's famous Guild Hall.
