Description

Near Downpatrick a new section of main road is being constructed to bypass part of the Belfast road into Downpatrick which crossed the nearly 300 year old Quoile Bridge. The new section has to cross the Quoile river at a different point and a new bridge is being constructed using the large diameter metal sections seen in the film. A number of these were laid on the river bed, allowing the river to flow through. Earth was then filled in on top and the road surface applied. This is now the A7 Belfast Rd.
