The Mourne Mountains provide Belfast with its water. It is also the source of much of the distinctive granite that makes up some of the city's most famous monuments and buildings. This documentary explores the stories of some of the people who maintain the Silent Valley Reservoir and built an industry on Mourne granite. The film was commissioned by Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership (MMLP) to tell the story of the Binnian Tunnel and mourne granite. It combines footage from the Digital Film Archilve with material gathered by MMLP with new interviews and new footage by TACA. The film was part of the BFI's Coast and Sea programme.
The film was shown in Newcastle Community Cinema in October 2017 to an audience was packed with friends, neighbours and family. It is also on display in the NI Water Interpretive Centre at the Silent Valley.
