Once seen as the "symbol of wisdom", the salmon makes its way to its parent stream when it is ready to breed, a feat which stumps scientists. Sean McDaid, has spent 52 years fishing salmon and discusses his technique, along with the decline in fish being caught currently, due to over fishing and poaching. However, Tommy Graham and Alan Keys from the Orritor Fish Hatchery on the Ballinderry River are making a concerted effort to increase fish stocks, especially amongst fish like the dollaghan trout who have effected by pollution and drainage and are in danger of extinction.
