Description

“How about turning a simple rice pudding into a baked rice meringue with drunken raisins?”

This is just one of many Jenny Bristow’s favourite pudding recipes presented in this episode of Highdays and Other Days series. Jenny prepares a selection of puddings - some hot, some cold - something to suit everybody’s taste along with a word of advice: “Never skimp on good-quality ingredients when it comes to the pudding; don’t feel one bit guilty, just enjoy them. After all, that’s what they are for”.

The studio kitchen, backdrop to Jenny’s cookery show, is the epitome of rustic charm. Here she prepares a range of dishes - varying in difficulty from the very simple to the most sophisticated - for special occasions. Whether it's Sunday lunch for the family, or a children's birthday party, or a picnic, or a party buffet, Jenny provides you with a host of easy-to-follow recipes and tips.

Notes

Jennifer Ann Bristow is a Northern Irish cook and cookery writer. Bristow was brought up on her family's dairy farm near Coleraine. A former home economics teacher at Cambridge House in Ballymena, Bristow made her first television appearance on Ulster Television's Farming Ulster in 1989 demonstrating how to cook with potatoes, which led a producer at the station to offer Bristow her own series.
