Description

The Home project is a series of short films produced by UTV in order to generate new documentary talent around the theme of belonging.

This programme contains 3 short films, each introduced by the Producer and Director.

Part one, showcases Gabrielle Murphy's Through Another's Eye's, which follows photographer Frankie Quinn's career through use of his images. The main aim of the project was to "show his work and how living here and working here has influenced his work". Frankie discusses how he got into photography, and recounts his father's support with him building his very own darkroom under the pigeon coop in their home in East Belfast.

Next, is Nature's Corner,  which is a tribute to director Elizabeth Archer's father, and is based on the Archer family legacy in Caledon. When we meet her father, tales of farmyard life are recounted and both father and daughter take a stroll in the fields to where three counties meet.

The final short film is Ronan Feely's Out of the Old, were the journey of Marshall Graham - who has lived in a cottage for 21 years without running water, bathroom facilities, electricity or central heating -  is captured moving into a new home. Here, the whole process of meeting the building contractor, Robert McKelvey, to building, to finally moving day is documented with the penultimate scene being Marshall sitting down with a cup of tea.
