Description

At RAF Ballykelly, the Interservice Hovercraft Trials Unit are providing training.  

Notes

The first practical design for hovercraft was derived from a British invention in the 1950s.  In 1961, the United Kingdom set up the Interservice Hovercraft Trials Unit (IHTU) based at RNAS Lee-on-Solent (HMS Daedalus), now the site of the Hovercraft Museum, near Portsmouth.
