Philip Wood and David Wilson explore the garden of Jim Reynolds in County Meath.
Found amongst gazebos, tiny temples and pavilions lie "the most sensitively controlled masses of flower and leaf form" and the distinguished gateways give the "eye an added sense of space and wilderness". Jim guides Philip through the garden, beginning by the beech hedges - his first plantings in the 1970s - through to his roses which were the second additions. In fact, Jim has many variations of roses one in particular, the Irish Souvenir de St.Anne's, Philip compliments with "you have a beauty over there".
The garden is meticulously kept, with a colour scheme adhered to, which is seen with every twist and turn that they both take along the box hedged pathway. Also featured is David's top tips on growing perennial flowers in the garden and how to support the plants you already have, while they grow.
