Description

Lord Robens was at this stage in his career the Chairman of the National Coal Board. He had been a Labour MP who had steadily climbed through the ranks and was spoken of as a future Prime Minister. However, he jumped from politics when offered the Coal Board position by the Conservative government. In this interview he extolls the need for modern management practices and efficiency in the workplace. He had come to Northern Ireland as a guest speaker at the first Northern Ireland Council for Industrial Advancement at the Conway Hotel in Dunmurry.
