Description

The launching of great ships was a common occurrence in Belfast in the heyday of the Harland and Wolff shipyard. This giant construction was a liquid gas container ship with the rather unusual name of Methane Progress. It was launched by Lady Jones, the wife of Sir Henry Jones who was Chairman of the Gas Council of Great Britain at the time.
