Description

Belfast Lord Mayor, Cllr. Bob Stoker officially launches the Women's Millennium Sports Festival, aimed at encouraging and coaching women who play both Gaelic football and 'British soccer'.

A sum of £30,000 has been ploughed into this joint effort and will be used to "assist the development, of what until now, has been perceived as predominantly male sports". Interviews with athletes, such as Lynda Donnelly, Nuala McCartan and Joanne Lavery demonstrate how much this investment is needed and appreciated.
