Description

Ministers William Craig and Brian Faulkner join others in the laying of the foundation of the Goodyear factory near Lurgan. It was hoped the factory would employ 2,000 people and be a cornerstone of new business for the new town of Craigavon. Businessman Cyril Lord is also present.

There was some controversy over the procurement of local farmland for the site. We see here 90-year-old farmer Mr Dan Murtagh visit the land he once owned.
