Description

What lies beneath an untidy corner of the Mourne Mountains?  Is there more than meets the eye to these brittle stones? Will a search abandoned 60 years ago bear fruit? The Mourne Development Association hope to unlock a treasure trove in the formidable landscape that inspired C.S. Lewis.

Notes

In his essay ‘On Stories’ C. S. Lewis wrote that 'I have seen landscapes, notably in the Mourne Mountains and southwards which under a particular light made me feel that at any moment a giant might raise his head over the next ridge’. This material is Courtesy of the UTV Archive.
