James Taylor was awarded France's highest order of merit, the Légion d'honneur, for his service in the First World War. Taylor was 99 when he received his medal from the French Consul, Marie-Paule Warnock. The merit was established by Napoleon Bonaparte and honours people who have done great things for France and the French people. 

Taylor received his reward at the age of 99. He fought in France during the First World War. In this report, he remembers the friends he made during his service and hopes the medal will honour them as well.
