Description

Lesser Spotted Ulster is an ongoing series exploring the stories, people and geography of less-visited areas of Ulster, presented by Joe Mahon. This episode visits Ardkeen near Newtownards, Co Down, on the Strangford Lough. The area is rich in history and Joe explores the impact of the Vikings on the archaeology and people. A boat maker talks about the rich history of his skills and Joe takes a boat out onto the water to see the local seals. An artist shows her creative interpretation of the beauty of the landscape and finally, Joe is 'rescued' from the mud by a rescue team.
