Many think of the lakes, angling and watersports at the mention of County Fermanagh, but there is a lot more to it. Joe Mahon ventures to the other Fermanagh and what some consider 'the real Fermanagh'. In this episode of Lesser Spotted Ulster, Joe visits Roslea located near the borders with County Cavan and Monaghan, learns about local history and meets some skillful, creative and hardworking natives.
Along the way Joe learns about special local spade designs, craft of local stonemasonry, creel making and visits the local heritage centre. Here he learns about Cassandra Hand’s legacy in the Roslea, Clones and Aghadrumsee area and attempts to learn a bit of crocheting with expert guidance from the local crochet workers.
