Description

Lesser Spotted Ulster looks at the Tynan and Middletown area in County Armagh. It is situated largely in the historic barony of Tiranny, with some areas in the barony of Armagh. Joe visits Tynan Abbey Estate where a country house belonging to the Stronge family was situated until it was destroyed in 1981.

Here, Joe Mahon meets a local beekeeper and learns a thing or two about beekeeping. We also get a chance to visit a saw mill and meet a farmer with a strong passion for rare breeds. This unique way of exploring local histories would not be possible without the local people and their wisdom, warmth and wit.
