Maxine Mawhinney presents this series for school leavers.
This episode focuses on the positive impact people can have in the their local communities and beyond, by taking up a cause and making a change.
Beginning in the Divis estate in west Belfast, we meet Bernie who founded a playgroup for the community, due to their being no safe place for the children to play. Recounting the first day when 90 children arrived, Bernie quickly teamed up with the local parents and, through their efforts and 14 months of voluntary work, the playgroup opened in a 6-bed flat.
Next Claire, Michael, Imogen and Rachel speak about the impact Green Peace has had, not just in the local community, but also nationally.
Concluding the programme is a major clean up campaign in the Suffolk area of west Belfast, with Pat and Tony explaining how it was part of an initiative for people to respect their own area.
