Description

Paul Smith and his uncle, Jim Degnan, were travelling through the Glens of Antrim when they came across a true hidden treasure. Near the tiny village of Newtown Crommelin in Glenravel, Co Antrim, they stumbled upon a magical fairy town, known as Little World.

These dwellings were not the typical ancient ringforts that dot the Irish landscape. They were surprisingly sophisticated, complete with roofs, doors, and windows. Built into old tree stumps - including a grand sequoia - and crafted from massive quarry stones, the structures are a blend of natural beauty and artistic detail.

Jim interviews Little World's designer and builder, Sean McKeown. In a captivating conversation, Sean guides Jim through the whimsical attraction, sharing how he constructed these fairy homes at the request of the “wee folk.” McKeown reveals his hope for visitors to journey from afar to admire his work, which includes tiny stone cottages, stump dwellings with intricate carvings, and a series of enchanting paths winding through the site.
