Lumiere Catalogue No 725. Part of a series of one-take scenes shot from a moving train travelling from Belfast to Kingstown (now Dun Laoghaire), Dublin.
Pierre and Auguste Lumiere were French pioneers of the cinema. They were noted for their one-shot, one-reel films of places and scenes of every day life. It is likely that Alexandre Promio was the cameraman who actually shot these scenes.
View from moving train showing countryside. There are various buildings and smoke from the steam powered train is visible. There is a sign which reads - 'Jameson's Nurseries Sandymount'. The train passes a series of rugby goal posts.
Photography - Alexandre Promio
